I am not sure if there is a scientific explanation but what I have noticed is that the gun at long distance, despite having decent penetration, has terrible dispersion. The bullet most often goes to the sides of the reticle. I have the same feeling in the AMXs

That is why I prefer to shoot from middle distances if possible

I don't get the love for the FCM. It's number 1 arty target, it needs to stay at spotting range distance, but hits perhaps 1 in 4 shots over 200m with a 4 skill crew.

Essentially the only buyable premium "medium" tank at the moment. I'm sure if the Type 59 got released in the shop again, the FCM would lose most of its popularity.

Hey, thanks everyone for this great topic. The advice I found here helped me to decide to get the FCM too and I don't regret it even for a minute. Altghough I'm not a good player, I love driving this tank, as it forces me to play better and think ahead. The only thing I am struggling with is the WR. Maybe it's because of the low alpha and the limitation of playing the support role, I don't know. But that's probably me and it may change when I get more experience in the game and improve my overall situational awarness.

But to anyone who haven't decided yet - Don't be afraid and get it, even if you are only "green" player like me, you can still have games like this in the FCM:

Loving the fcm... been running all solo pretty much just in the last 2 days to get the 2nd barrel stripe.  Ive made over 3 million credits and my overall win8 has gone up 10 points in just 2 days with this thing-10 points of overall win8 with 15k fights is pretty good if you ask me.  All This despite getting owned in a couple of tier x clam fights

 

One more thing...i deleted xvm and % to win 2 days ago from my game mods. :-)

Totally agreed. Yesterday, I was penned by pretty much anything in my FCM (even tier 6). Then I drove my Comet and encountered enemy FCM that was 200 hp. I fired 5-6 shots to his turret and only one of them penetrated (and I was not hitting the gun or the tiny gun mantlet). I received 3 penetrating shots to my supposedly "hard" Comet turret and then got clicked by arty. Yeah, I totally alt+F4 the game after this and went to play something else.

 

Damn, RNG is making me so mad sometimes. And I fear, it will be even worse after the 9.6 accuracy nerf.

I had a game where I was 3 vs one and surrounded.. all closed in and I was turning, wigling and I still got in shot after shot for that credit farming... took them long enough to kill me

Okay so I bought the FCM this friday but played it yesterday.

 

I have a good crew on the 50b and a spare loader from the M4 45 (I haven't played that tank in like two years). The radioman (loader in 50b) has Safe Stowage but it doesn't work on the 50t, because fuck you, and THAT sucks.

 

Because I was hit for 200ish by an enemy M44 and ammoracked.

 

 

While I'm not perfect, I think I did well for the first day. Map selection was cool, no big brawl maps were French tanks suffer and get bullied by alphatanks, but we had that stupid Mines map. Mines is a shit map for top tiers IMO, I went to the island spawning from South and hid on that platform thing. Now, I couldn't get a single good shot on the first 5/6 minutes, all fully aimed shots missed or went for autobounce angles/T32 Mantlet. Is this thing not THAT accurate? I couldn't believe I was missing so much it's not that I was sniping across the entire map, it was just trying to put some shots into a Bulldog and a KV-13 moving towards the hill...

So I bought this tank because I couldn't stand the idea of grinding the French heavy line with a stock crew.

 

The thing is I hate 90 mm guns at T8. A lot. Oh god how I hate them.

So my first 40 games went like "fuck it lets get triple for today" inb4 arty R.I.P.

1k average damage 36% WR yeah...

Was playing my 12t with full APCR (close to the 3rd mark after 85 battles, don't hate plx, no? sorry....) and ran out of money when I remembered how I wanted a 50B in the future.....

took the FCM for a spin and got murdered by 2 arty after doing 1k damage

Won the game got my double, good. Hello IS-6.

 

Then I took a look at my session stats. 71 games, dark purple. What? Can't be true. Took a look through what tonks where responsible.

Holy mother of damn, everything blue and purple only that one game orange thing in the middle called "FCM". Could I fix that or would I ruin my stats. Worst case I drop back to 2.5k for the day so I try it.

 

Literally never played this tank before. I swear it was another one. The only thing my FCM has is 1 skill at 50%. 6.47 sec reload. No 6th, no food.

Got 3 mastery badges in 3 games and broke 3k for the first time in a longer session. Starting right now I'm the newest convert to the FCM fanclub and would like to fill in my application.

The only beef I have with this thing now is the credit gain. My IS-6 would have made 150k if I had done 4k  damage and 7 kills without firing a single premium round Q.Q

I love this tank. Bought it today amongst the pref removal hypetrain and it's a goodun. The only bad games I had were the first I played where some TDs yolo'd me and another where arty clicked me for 1300. Apart from that there was much cred farming.

Hey there.

I just got myself the FCM and...starting with a 80%crew i sucked then i am sucking a bit less now that my BDR crew got to 100%.

Just a quick question, how do u handle the balance of agression needed to make a difference and getting wrecked because it cannot/should not brawl? If my team has some heavys i got no problems doing okay´ish 2k dmg but if there are none its not so well.

Not sure if you should be playing tier 8's with 1800 battles to be honest... but yeah you are more of a support type tank than a front line brawler... (more medium than heavy)

Don't be elitist before looking at the guys stats.

He already has a reserchable tier 8 with 58% WR, and plays the FCM at almost 59% so far.

 

Encouraging people to stay away from tier 8 premiums is for unproven people.  Well, and people that are proven to be bad.

True enough. Sorry about that. I was just thinking of my own gameplay coming to tier 8...

 

BTW FCM 50t on mines encounter -> Hill run confirmed to work both north and south spawn... maybe I was lucky but mediums spawn a bit too far I think...
