T-62A module set

Question

Hi there,

My very first thread, so little introduction. Glad to see that there is a community of players alike, who "play for fun" through carrying/spotting/defending/supporting, not just by getting spotted and destroyed by "invisible tanks", or camping at A0 in Erlenberg Assault mode, while the other teammates are trying to shoot horde of tightly grouped flanking enemy tanks.

So, I have T-62A, one of my favorite tanks. My play style is somewhat aggressive, taking key positions, hull down, turret only fights, shooting most of the time usually trying to deal a lot of damage.

Obviously, my initial preference for module sets is Vents, Vert. Stab. and Gun Rammer installed. However on open maps, I often feel lack of Optics to spot big tanks with low camo at distance. So, I am wondering if it would be worthy to replace one of my modules and go for Optics.

Vents. I also have BiA in among the crew, so 5% + 5% = 10% to my all my crew skills. Theoretically, it feels as considerable an advantage to me. Sometimes I may equip Food i.e. +20% to crew skills.

Gun Rammer. No question about it.

Vert. Stab. - this is where I was wondering if Vert. Stab. is whether an improvement to T-62A's already accurate gun which is one of the most accurate guns in game. I heard Vert. Stab. is redundant to accurate guns. The gun has already a small reticle on the move, aim time is small too, accurate.

What do you think?

Not a purple poaster, but from what i read elsewhere on this forum:

Take Optics instead of Vents.

The overall importance of equipment is imho like this:

Rammer, VStab > if aim time is too big or tank is autoloader then GLD, else Optics > Vents

There are exceptions for some tanks, for example those that fight exclusively in CQB, where Optics are skipped.

Resurrecting this old 'answered' question as it seems to be the best place for this...

Watching NaVi_Straik solo (Т-62А) I notice he's using rammer, vert stab, and vents -- not optics.

Pondering why, I come up with no good reason other than perhaps his playstyle is more close range so optics isn't as needed. However, watching him, he does seem to use distance/terrain/obstacles to minimize his exposure, chance of not being seen, etc. He's not a long range sniper usually, more mid-range.

Is he using team mates to spot? Use LOS so well he can get close enough without exposing himself too much? Is he so good he gives up the extra vision range in favor of better performance earlier on in the match (when he has team mates to spot)? Or...?

It's possible that he has enough view range from BIA, Vents, Recon and Situational awareness that he's already bumping at or above the 445 spotting cap.

He could be using a CW setup. Ventilation is better if you have a spotter, or if you are moving in a "blob" of tanks where you need max. DPM.
