What this forum is, and how to gain acceptance

You truly need to get a strong, scaly skin of bouncanium to be here..

Or you could just be an average internet dweller. Whats the worst that these pixel tank drivers can say?Anime-Boring-GIF.gif

FTR, for most of us here, stands for For The Retards. It's more akin to Fox News, everything posted there should be taken with a generous handful of salt (not saying WoTLabs isn't biased, but we are usually much more critical in our comments).

While that is true ftr is still the main/only source of info, at least for the eu server. For example, ftr knows weekend specials a month in advance while the offical wg website might post it a day before, or even after the special started.

I think in eu they are not even trying to pretend anymore that they give a shit about the community.

First post for me!  Also, testing to see if my profile settings are set properly....  :P

I've been playing for a few months and I realized that I do fairly well in certain light tanks.  Would I be accused of padding my wn8 stats if I drive tanks that give me really great wn8 sessions (3000+ wn8 entire game sessions) and I also truly find fun to drive?

hahaha well. i'm not made of magical unicorn hair, and i think enough people want the arty still, that that one seems like a stretch.

But just like anything, if you can show in numbers, that enough people want it changed - i have no idea if WG would change it. but, i would definitely escalate it.

That is one huge game mechanic though, and would take actual legitimate showing of statistics to gain any traction.

also, wotlabs has told me i've reached my limit of liking / upvoting posts.

you guys are so much fun, that i've already expended my limit of wotlabs "likes" XD

I didn't get the whole arti hate thing until I started tier 4-5 and I'm told it only gets worse at higher tiers.

I think the best way for you to see the problem with arty here is to just keep playing the game yourself.  When you play something other than arty, you'll see how bad it is for the game that someone can basically reach out and end your match with no chance of them taking a hit in response. It would be like watching a ballgame on Saturday and being able to reach through the TV and smack the coach upside the head if you didn't like something they did and then go back to your couch, beer and nachos.

Fun for you but probably not fun for the coach who has other concerns at the moment.

Just keep playing the game and encourage other CMs, devs WG employees to actually play the game as well and it shouldn't take long for you to experience the issue 1st hand.  I think then everyone would be in a better position to figure out what to do next once the powers that be or folks they listen to have some 1st hand understandings of the frustration that arty is and why its such a turn off for the game.  We have about the same number of games played so it probably won't take long for you to start to go through the same frustration that has me logging off early more often than not now.

btw I think its cool that CMs and devs and such come out of the ivory tower as it were to mingle with the rest of us schmucks :)  Not seen that much with any games I've played until now.

On the likes/dislikes thing.  The wot forum has limits for both as well. I think its cool you've found enough to like here to already burn through the daily limit.  They replenish every day I've noticed.

I've been on the forum a while, haven't visited or played in months. Started at lower tiers to help work my way back up. Met with outright vitriol from first Tier VIII+ match in my Ferdie.

It's good to be back.

I just signed up recently.

I have missed the actually useful topics on WoT forum.

I have also missed a lot of people (most of you are thinking "who the hell is this clown").

also, yes I have a clan tag, it's my clan.  Just me.

it's Not A Real Clan.

TY.

Greetings, newcomers.

As this is the first place new people have access to, I'd like to go over a few things that will greatly enrich your time here.

First of all, know that those who contribute to and moderate these forums are players who are dedicated to performance. We strive to play well. If you are a person who is an average tanker, or even a bad tanker, you are still welcome here. However, we have little tolerance for excuses. We welcome players of all skill levels who wish to improve their play. Blaming anything other than yourself for your failures will quickly get you removed. But if you want to get better, you will not find a more helpful resource.

Bear that in mind when asking questions. Instead of saying something about some hacking invisitank killing you, ask how an enemy was able to kill you without being spotted. We know how the game works. We can help you know how the game works. We can help you be the person that makes other people run to the forums to cry about hacks.

Grow a thick skin. If you're bad, we will tell you. We will likely not spare your feelings. We're not kindly old school teachers here, we're hard-ass drill instructors. We won't kiss it and make it better, but we will turn you into an instrument of death, praying for war.

Keep discussions civil. Even unica have differing opinions. Irate posts will get nuked fast. Discuss and argue points. Leave the ad hominem attacks for the Official forums.

Finally, remember that we all play for fun. Some of us just prefer that we have our fun at the expense of the enemy team.

The last sentence in the next to last paragraph speaks volumes.

Ha, look at this, apparently we help people improve so much that even the bot wants to join us now.

ngl tho thinking back to it this a bit extra :minidoge:

i mean all we really ended up being were a bunch of 4chan-lite shitposters with various mixes of ghey, edge, furfeg, and crippling depression
