The Current State of the T34

Recommended Posts

depends on the map for me,if its a city map id way perfer my lowe over the t34

Somehow I earn less in my lowe but it is just more fun (less pain?) to play it when you can sidescrape in cities and you can actually hit other tanks in the place you are aiming at.

T34's gun handling is still very frustrating, but as long as u hull down and give yourself time to aim it will do no less than 2k damage per game.

one of the best credit makers

I'm not one to complain about the workings of RNG very often but this game had me practically pulling my hair out.

Well I was hoping to find pointers on improving my play in this....

250ish games in this thing (for it free when the T34 was a tier 9), and I still don't like it, I'm getting better at living longer and dishing out damage, but my 44% win rate tells me I'm doing something wrong in it.

So those who like  play this tank, how do you play it? Stick with the pack? Hang back and take opportunistic shots?

I'm close to just giving up on it and playing my preferred MM tier 8's...

When top tier: I go to the typical heavy spots (citys, head on slugfests) and blab people for 400 dmg.

When vs tier 8/9: see above

When vs tier 9: see above, but a bit more carefull (so less sidescraping and guessing reload speeds, more hull down)

When vs tier 9/10: behind the others, hull down as much as possible

When vs tier 10: hull down or hardcore camp

ps: but thats only solo, in platoon i follow the heavys or go hull down / sniping (its a decent sniper, the base accuracy is ok and the penetration is good)

Finally bought this tanky tank, along with a T29. Gives me now 3 US HT crews, T110E5, T57H, and now the T29

I do wish this tank had a *bit* more DPM, but its not horrible.

Currently, i have 1300 battles in my t34... I will say at the beginning i enjoyed the tank more towards 500 battles, when i had a decent crew in it. Its big, incredibly slow, and has a good gun that gets fucked by aim time. In my opinion, its a great money maker, and at times can be a nightmare when played right. but after buying the is6, i prefer the is6 so much more. For me to fall back in love with the t34, i need either a mobility buff or the accuracy or aim time buffed.

I will put my tinfoil hat on and say that I get the feeling the accuracy changes hit the T34 hard.

I want to stick a screwdriver in my ear whenever I sit still and aim for ages with this tank and miss, while i zoom around in my Type59 and hit alot on the move.

It's still a good tank in a more long and drawn out match where you lack of DPM doesn't matter as much.  Not my favorite premium but not bad enough for me to want to sell it either, though it gets penned by arty way more than I'd like, even a FV304 and Crusader SP penned me today.

Coming from a bad player, to me it's so close to being good. IF ROF was 4.5 instead of 4, or if aim time was 2.7, or if the dispersion values were a lower, or if it handled better etc. It does make money though, and is good with cooperation of teammates.

It's one of those tanks that with little buffs to a bunch of areas could be very good. But WG thinks penetration is a big balancing factor, just like they thought the 183 should be balanced around its AP shell because people won't shoot all HESH.....

Coming back to this in 2020, this tank is playable, even if underpowered compared to something like the Renegade. While the alpha isn't particularly special anymore, having TD level pen makes a big difference for slapping down new-era bullshit armor schemes clearly built around fucking over tanks with the usual 220 AP/260 APCR pen.

I've found that it gets quite a lot out of IRM, given how slow and cumbersome both the turret and hull are. Unfortunate its a HT, so no firepower slot to put it in. Vstab is absolutely incredible, but Rammer, Vents, and IRM are all pretty interchangeable. I want to try out a Rammerless loadout, because I don't think the 140 DPM drop from going from unboosted Rammer -> boosted vents is going to make much of a difference, but who knows.

Anyways its still a relaxing tank to play and makes unbeatable credits, whether you run it frugally or not.

I feel the same, i expected T34 to be crappy, but so far it was pleasant to play (it drive slow, aims slow, reloads slow and well, its just slow) but it seems to sorta work decent. Had more luck with this so far as with Lowe (and i was always a Lowe fanboy, so go figure...)

Thanks for the idea of using a rammerless loadout, I'm running vents, irm, and stabs on it and I'm wondering why I didn't reclaim it sooner.

Now to repair the winrate from being my second premium tank lmao
