Looks like a nice overview on what you should be doing, some numbers are low for purple (1800 in pershing) but overall it's a good baseline

Confirm validity y/n?

I think its a very user friendly tool to find out what you should/are doing in tanks.

I think the values are almost spot-on in terms of WN8, as just above 1800 will get you light purple in the Pershing.

Seems like an interesting tool =D might take occasional looks.

Will at least save me from spending a few seconds calculating it myself when I want to.

Very nice website.

Not sure how accurate all their numbers are though. Going off the Per Tank Expected from the WN WIki and the Per tank Excel file linked from the WN8 development thread the values on that website are really high.

Ex:

E100

Website:

Purple: 2900

Per Tank Expected:

Purple 2350: 2754

T110E5

Website:

Purple: 2825

Per Tank Expected:

Purple 2350: 2703

Edited for confusing the WN numbers and corresponding Colors.

-snip-

IIRC the WN8 for getting all expected values was 1500, so purple requires you to perform at 1.566x times the expected values. He rounds up or down a bit, so if my calculations aren't wrong whoever made the website is right.

Its good for greens/yellows/reds who just want some goals to set. Kind of useless for purples etc, but that's perfectly fine. I'm sure there's some kind of argument against damage farm abrewin, but let's be real - this is never going to affect the meta.

This website is kind of cute, like "how to get the most gold stars" for kindergartners.

Its not a bad tool, but its fundamentally misplaced damage obsession.  It leads people to set a target DPG to get a color to look skilled instead of playing to win.  How much dpg should I do is simple -- do enough DPG to win games.  Whether that's 1800 or 2000 average makes no difference; win games.

My first post was a mess. What I should have said in my first post is that the numbers that the website uses for 1500 WN8 differs from the WNEfficiency website (unless I'm missing something).

E100

WNEfficiency.net         1500 WN8: 1836

Targetdamage.com     1500 WN8: 1550

The green numbers are for 1250 WN8, or the bottom for green WN8.

FAQ-hellcat.jpg?format=1000w

Do more than 850 damage and your WN8 rating will be green for that round.

Do the *expected value* of 1002 damage and your WN8 rating will also be green for that round.

Do more than 1275 damage and your WN8 rating will be blue for that round.

Do more than 1575 damage and your WN8 rating will be purple for that round.

EDIT: also:

But wait?  WN8 accounts for more than just Damage - it also considers Kills, Defense, and Winrate!

  • This is correct!  TargetDamage was designed as a "general guideline".  TargetDamage numbers are slightly higher than the actual damage required, meaning that if you score a TargetDamage number (all other things being average) you should be easily into that color rating.  With a focus on damage, the other required WN8 values are usually attained by default - but even if they are not, their impact on the WN8 calculation is tiny in comparison to the weight of the Damage number.  We will do a detailed example below....

Yes I found without seeing this website is if you get say damage for blue and 3 or 4 kills it will bump you up to purple for that match.

5 + kills will put you deep in purple.

I would assume if there's a ridiculous number you can make it fine by adding a 0.

LOL or the ARL44 just sucks that bad ...

Yeah well it really bothers me when people use imprecise, generalized statements like "green" "blue" "purple" without telling me where exactly in the respective color band that number falls.

That website sho iz purty though.
