The_mariachi 4 Share Posted April 9, 2014 (edited) Just bought Panther II last week and use the coated optics that I have in the panther; so next to do was put binocs that i NEVER use to fill up the Panther' slots and this what happens: http://wotreplays.com/site/756811# Do you use to play with binocs on Medium tanks instead of optics? P.S.: I think that i did more than a half of the damage using them. Edited April 9, 2014 by The_mariachi Nope
Tedster59 989 Share Posted April 9, 2014 I think certain tanks fit with the playstyle required for binoculars to be effective (aka the campy sniper), which also happens to be the ideal playstyle for the panther.
Lightnin45 95 Share Posted April 9, 2014 Very nice game, I will have to remember this when I make it up to the Panther. I have been using optics on my mediums and binocs on my TD's, as I am on the move more than sitting, but sniping medium's could definitely benefit. It's a pretty good feeling when the binoc's activate and light about 4 or 5 tanks that are subsequently turned into wreckage.
MrsmilieyfaceC8 668 Share Posted April 9, 2014 Only on anything sub 390 for tier6+
Assassin7 4,353 Share Posted April 9, 2014 I use binocs on tanks that I will be more stationary in than mobile. which pretty much means TDs. MAYBE somemediums. you could argue that the FV4202 could potentially get better use out of binocs than the optics I currently have on it.
Barks_Internally 259 Share Posted April 9, 2014 Unless it has really awful view range (~350) then optics always. Except tds. Binocs just limit you too much
Anwindo 14 Share Posted April 9, 2014 Do you use to play with binocs on Medium tanks instead of optics? P.S.: I think that i did more than a half of the damage using them. I watched the replay, the only situation where you did damage/spotted due to the working binocs was respotting the tog and T29 at 9 to 8 mins. And for that optics would have been just fine as well. Nice replay, I'll keep my optics on my beloved Panther.

Agreed, only time binocs helped you was respotting T29 and TOG. rest of the time it was either team spotting for you or base viewrange without binocs doing the spots. Smbakeresq 109 Share Posted April 11, 2014 The answer is the same, you need 445m view range to see moving vehicles at max draw. You will not spot Hellcats, Russians, etc if they are properly camoed and bushes unless they fire anyway.
